🏔️🚩 A Historic Achievement on the Top of the Himalayas! 🚩🏔️ We are delighted to share the remarkable journey of our dedicated and courageous team of entrepreneurs Lhakpa Geli Sherpa, Kaji Gurung, Sangay Sherpa, Phurnima Sherpa, Chhiring Namgel Sherpa , Ang Galjen Sherpa from New York and Tshering Lama from Texas. They have successfully completed a challenging week-long trek from Salleri-Solukhumbhu to the base camp of the majestic mountains in the Mighty Himalayan Kingdom of Nepal. In a proud moment, the Rotary Club of New York Queens's flag was displayed at the renowned Gokyo Lake viewpoint of Gokyo RI (5,430m/17,519ft). Surrounded by awe-inspiring views of the world's highest mountains – Everest (8,848m), Lhotse (8,516m), Makalu (8,485m), and Cho Oyu (8,188m) – their accomplishment has left an indelible mark on the world. Originating from New York & Texas these remarkable individuals embarked on a historic lifetime mission titled "Eco Walk."with their unique objective to raise awareness about the climate change movement while ascending to the Himalayas. Along their arduous journey, they also dedicated themselves to collecting trash along the way , exemplifying the noble values and virtue of "Service Above Self" upheld by Rotary International. We wholeheartedly appreciate the unwavering dedication, commitment, and invaluable contribution of these brave and passionate volunteers. Their inspiring endeavor demonstrates that making a difference in the lives of our community and humanity does not necessarily require affiliation with any specific organization or institution. Together, we can unite under the common cause of creating a brighter future for the people of this magnificent planet, Earth. Let us collectively raise awareness about this outstanding achievement and emphasize the importance of taking action against climate change.
