Rotary Club of New York Queens: Extending Compassion Beyond Borders On June 18, 2025, while our members were celebrating the Installation Ceremony of Lydia A. Wells as Governor of Rotary District 7255, a meaningful act of service unfolded thousands of miles away. At Shree Bhotang Devi Secondary School in Panchpokhari, Thangpal, , Bhotang, Sindhupalchowk, Nepal, 30 children in need received school uniforms, educational supplies (books and stationery), and essential food items—thanks to the unwavering commitment behind one of our club’s signature initiatives. Though our members could not be present on-site, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to dedicated volunteer Santosh Adhikari and his team, who ensured the seamless distribution. Their compassion, efficiency, and local leadership exemplify the power of global partnership and shared purpose. This project, launched in 2022, continues to reflect our club’s mission: to uplift underserved students by addressing their most fundamental educational and nutritional needs. This year, the Rotary Club of New York Queens contributed NRs. 136,058 (USD $1,000). In addition, our Program Chair Rtn. Manju Bista, alongside her family and friends, generously contributed NRs. 117,942 and led the logistical efforts—bringing the total contribution to NRs. 254,000. We offer our sincere appreciation to Rtn. Manju Bista for her dedicated leadership and extraordinary generosity. Her commitment reflects the true essence of Rotary—Service Above Self. We are equally grateful to all the volunteers and supporters whose efforts brought this vision to life. And to our club members—thank you for your continued passion and purpose.
